Mock
Evaluation
For
the mock I don't think that I was prepared as a would have liked to
have been because I had two images out of the five that I was not
happy with and this was down to the lack of preparation I did. I had
ideas for my mock but I wasn't excited about the ideas so I changed
the idea slightly close to the mock date and did as much prep works
as I could. I do believe that some more experimenting would have
helped me in the mock because I did take a risk by choosing that idea
so close to the mock but I think it worked out for the best.
The
time that we was allowed for my mock was six hours and I planned on
doing five images, so I had about an hour to do each one with an hour
spare to do any changes or redo any that I wasn't happy with. This
arrangement worked well for me because it roughly took about forty
five minutes to complete one and this gave me time to redo two of the
images that I thought I could have painted better.
The
arrangement of the five images was: close up, medium close up, whole
face, close up and than a medium close up, I think the best one with
the image of the whole face because I think it stands out the most
and compositionally it is better, in my opinion. I think the colours
worked well because they were bright and contrasts to the black and
the other colours.
If
I could go back and do the mock again I think I would change the
composition of the single eye because I think it sites well as the
other sit together, I think I would have made the eye smaller and
added in the eyebrow to make it more like the middle image. Also the
dripping is neat and I think the images could have benefited to
having messier more real looking drips but other than that I am happy
with the outcome of the mock.
I
think the one thing that I was worried about was that it looks to
simple. When doing them I didn't think it was to difficult to do but
I'm happy I did them because I think it shows some of my best work.
When doing the final exam I want to keep to this idea but develop it
further to create something more complex and more interesting. I
really do like the bold black and the dripping colours so I would
like to keep this idea going. Also when thinking of the final exam I
think that watercolour is the median that I work best in and also A3
is the biggest size I will paint in because I tend to work best on a
smaller scale.
